I love December. The holidays make the entire month feel so exciting. This year was extra special because it was my daughters first Christmas 🙂 I love that little meatball so much! She’s seriously adorable. December also provides lots of reasons to get all dolled up. Between the Party season and my project pan I’ve been using makeup on the regular again. Here’s a few of my stand out products for December.
I’ve been eyeing different versions of the Color Switch for some time now. My hope is that it will help me have clean brushes between uses so I don’t have to have so many brushes out at once. I’ve been using this since the summer and as result I have a pretty solid opinion of it.
After having purged so much makeup and seeing Nat start the purging process for herself, I asked myself a question. Of all my makeup, what do I have that I really enjoy? One item that came to mind was my Carli Bybel Palette by BH Cosmetics. It was $12 USD (+shipping). At the time I picked up a lipstick and a blush plus I received a discount off my shipping and a free mini eyeshadow palette. I think I payed around $36 CDN all included. Over all I was really satisfied with my order. I started to wonder if there is more available at BH Cosmetics that I would like and feel like I’m getting my money’s worth out of. So I placed another order to see.
It’s that time of year!!! Holiday kits, sets, palettes and deals are here! I wasn’t able to go crazy during the Sephora sale but I have let myself gradually pick up some drugstore kits over the course of the past few weeks. I picked up 3 ELF sets. Are you curious about them? Good! Because I’m about to tell you all about them 🙂
I wanted to include powder products but was nervous that I wouldn’t actually be able to finish them. I added some in as stretch goals. Goals that would be amazing to reach but likely won’t happen by the new year… but why not challenge yourself?
I love mineral foundation! I use it several times a week and have so for 3 years now. So what’s the deal with mineral makeup? Why is it awesome and what makes it different? Here is my take on mineral makeup as well as some tips on using it.
I’ve decluttered and my collection is about half of what it was. Yet I still have so much unused products! I also have limited space and an unchecked shopping addiction so I really need to ensure that my makeup collection is filled with things that I love and at least use occasionally! So I decided to round up all my makeup that I kept from my massive purge but still don’t really use and either use it, or lose it!
Tool Talk!!!! I was considering calling this series Tool Time! Who remembers that? Am I aging myself here…? I think I am…
I’ve been focusing more and more on makeup brushes and tools so I decided to make a monthly series about it. I’m looking for affordable tools that make applying makeup easier and possibly shave some time off of my routine! I should have added the BDellium Tools under this umbrella but I didn’t come up with this amazing idea then! So our first subject of the Tool Talk series is the Still Spa Essentials Brushes from Walmart! Let’s discuss 🙂
I am on the hunt for more brushes. I’m looking for nice quality, affordable brushes that are cruelty free and offered as individual brushes. Selection is very important to me since I’ve purchased lots of sets and am looking to get more of specific types of brushes – not full sets. I researched BDellium tools and found that they had consistently positive reviews. I’m not sure they’re considered 100% cruelty free but they offer a vegan line, so I thought that’d be a great start. They have hundreds of brushes on their website and ship to Canada for free after a minimum purchase of $20 USD.
It’s been a while since I’ve talked about the things that I’ve been not loving! The lovely makeup that I’ve purchased that really just DID NOT work for me at all! Here’s another round of makeup duds by Sheena 🙂
Petit Vour is a monthly makeup subscription box that specializes in vegan makeup. They ship boxes to Canada for FREE and charge $23CDN for a box. I thought that the price point was pretty fair so I gave them a try. I have mixed feelings which I will explain at the end of the unboxing. First we will start with what I got!
This September we went to a friend’s wedding. It was the first time I got dressed up in well over a year (trying to get dressed up nice when you’re super pregnant DOES NOT COUNT!). I slowly prepped for my friends big day by buying makeup for myself to ensure I look good from ceremony to the wee hours of the night! Through tears and through laughter 🙂 I was really happy with how my makeup held up and so this months faves is dedicated to my wedding guest face!
