Since I love Annabelle’s Skinny Brow pencil I figured I’d give other brow products from them a shot. I wanted a brow kit like this for days I’m looking to add a little more drama to my makeup. I haven’t decided if my brows are better suited to a pencil or a kit so I thought I’d play around and see 🙂 As luck would have it, I caught a sale and got this for $5 rather than the usual $9.99. Unfortunately the girl at my Shoppers explained to me that Annabelle was being phased out – hence the sale – in favor of adding new NYX displays! So yay for more NYX but boo for seeing the demise of a Canadian brand at Shoppers 😦 Hopefully this doesn’t mean the beginning of the end for Annabelle since they do have some really nice products! Anyway… here’s my experience with their new brow kit!
Pure Anada is a Canadian natural cosmetics company based out of Manitoba! Morden Manitoba to be exact. Their products are made in Canada from natural and organic ingredients. They are cruelty-free which is a big yay in my books! I find this brand at Terra20 and Well.ca. They’re quite accessible for a boutique Canadian brand. During my most recent trip to Terra20 I decided to take the plunge and test them out! I picked up a foundation, blush and lip stick. Lots of pictures are included so be sure to grab a coffee before you read the rest!
Delizioso Skin Care is a Canadian Boutique brand from London Ontario. It’s helmed by 2 sisters and can be found at Terra20. I ran in to the sisters at Terra20 earlier this fall while I was shopping. I thought they were so sweet (and their Mom was there too!) so I picked up somethings to try. I didn’t tell them I wrote a blog and I paid for these products myself. Here’s a quick overview of the brand based on my very limited experience with them.
Marcelle has tons of great kits at the drugstore but they’re mainly skincare. Recently I found this gem at Rexall for $10.49! I snapped up 1 for me, and one for a gift 🙂 Here’s a quick run down on my feels for this lovely and affordable gift.
I love Christmas 🙂 I’m so happy December is here and I can go all Christmas Crazy without judgement! My personal highlight for November was hanging out in Montreal with my husband. There’s nothing like a weekend away to spark some romance ❤ As for my makeup faves… well once again my new makeup rotation has allowed for me to use some products enough to LOVE them! Or fall back in love with them… Anyway, here’s my loves from November!
Sometimes when I hear bloggers/vloggers discuss budget makeup it sort of sounds like they’d rather be buying high end but if they must buy drugstore than X is an ok product. Now don’t get me wrong, many bloggers/vloggers clearly love the more budget friendly category of makeup! I’m not accusing anyone of anything here it just makes me think a little… of all the products that I’ve tried out on the $10 Weekly. Of all the ones I’ve reviewed and said I’d liked, what ones truly made their way in to my regular rotation?
I call this is “haul” with quotation marks because I didn’t buy everything at once. I’ve purged a lot and focused on using up the things that I have which means there were some items that I needed to replace! Plus I found a few gaps in my makeup collection that just HAD to be filled 🙂 This is what I’ve picked up recently. Let me know if you’re interested in full reviews of anything!
Aren’t travel kits a great way to try out new products!?? I love them for the value 🙂 I hardly ever feel let down with a good priced travel kit. This kit from Live Clean was $9.95 at Rexall. It includes a cleanser, moisturizer, night cream and facial scrub. I’m a big fan of this Canadian company and it’s less than $10 so here we are!
This month I’ve been using a lot of my ol’ standbys. My go-to products. My eyeshadow varies based on what I’m testing out, what I have that’s new, etc. What I actually put on my face of my complexion products is mix of the same products. Sometimes I skip tinted moisturizer and go naked skin with just mascara. Occasionally I do very light complexion makeup and skip eyeshadow. Over all, I regularly use these products so I thought I’d focus on them this month since I don’t feel like I can offer a true “favourites” post since I haven’t bought much that hasn’t been for the specific purpose of writing reviews for this blog. This might seem redundant since I have written about most (if not all) of these products before but what can I say? It’s true, I love them and use them constantly!
I picked this up at Shoppers for $6.95. It’s a makeup remover that doesn’t require rinsing after you remove your makeup. I thought it’d be fun to do a review on it for the $10 Weekly because it’s hard to find products like this for less than $10. After my first use I basically could say “Yup. It works.” I was a little disappointed in how boring it is to describe makeup remover… but then. Then I thought what if I do a show down between Bioderma and Marcelle 3 in 1 Micellar Solution??? So this is what we have here for this weeks post. A mortal combat of makeup removers.
When I saw this previewed on Instagram I knew I had to have it! This little palette is part of Annabelle’s Fall 2015 line and as far as I’m aware, this is their first offering of a palette in this format. I’m really excited for Annabelle to dabble in affordable palettes because I do genuinely like the brand but I’ve historically found their eyeshadow selection limited. I’m hoping that this will be the first of many palettes offered by Annabelle! I picked this guy up at Shoppers Drugmart. The introductory price is $14.99 but I’m sure there will be sales in the future 🙂
I got this in a premium sample skincare kit while I was at Murale some time ago. I’ve never tried this brand and they’re Canadian! This moisturizer claims to have over 500 hours of moisturization in the jar! Holy Toledos!!! It’s intended for people who lack water in their skin, and that is my problem so I put this product to the test!
This week on Yay or Nay Sunday – Live Clean Body Butter.
A couple weeks ago, Sheena posted about 3 other Live Clean products. You can read about them here. Were were sent these items by Live Clean and we decided to review them. Honest review only, promise 😀
I tried this body butter since I cannot get enough hydrating products since I have very dry skin, especially on my legs. The hunt continues for the perfect body butter and when a Canadian, cruelty-free, eco-friendly brand with plant ingredients comes along, it is hard to pass up!
A while ago I wrote a post about the Live Clean Facial Wipes, here. I was really taken with Live Clean. Their product was excellent, the price was right, the brand is Canadian and eco-minded which is something that lately I’ve been taking more interest in. I also mentioned their shampoo & conditioner in one of my monthly favourites. I’ve since repurchased their shampoo & conditioner but switched to a slightly cheaper Pacifica brand facial wipe. Since I wrote about them a few times Live Clean’s PR company reached out to me and offered to send me new products. I’ve never done anything like that before but I felt pretty great that they liked my posts so I agreed to try out some new products if they so chose to drop them in the mail for me. Now as I mentioned, no one on 3 Canadian Beauties has ever accepted products before so I didn’t know what to expect. I wrote them back a big looooong email all about how this blog for us is a hobby and so I will fully write my 100% true opinion. I heard nothing back from them but several weeks later a box arrived at my door. It contained body wash, hand wash and body lotion. It’s up to you to decide if I’m being honest in the following review or not so here we go:
Happy Canada Day!! 148 years young today 🙂 In celebration here are 4 beauty companies that you might not know started in Canada!
Everyone’s favourite lip stick company Bite Beauty is based out of Toronto Canada! They continue to innovate on all things lips. The first high end makeup brand that I’ve ever used, M.A.C. Cosmetics, was founded in Toronto Canada, in 1991! It was later sold to an American company where it grew to be the benchmark to beauty that it is today! I often see this brand receiving mixed reviews… I have yet to try them out but Cargo Cosmetics! They were once based out of (you guessed it!) Toronto! Their aptly named “Northern Lights Palette” was well reviewed all over Youtube. CoverFX is all over youtube right now with their innovative custom cover drops! Fun fact about them. They’re also Canadian! I’m really happy that this home grown brand is getting some recognition, personally I like what they’re all about! If you take the time to search you can easily find more companies that have started out of Canada and grown to influence the beauty world! Companies such as Pur Anada and Sappho create luxurious eco-friendly cosmetics. Of course we can’t forget our more commonly seen brands; Annabelle, Marcelle and Lise Watier! As Canadians we have much to be proud of, including our mark on the beauty world. Happy Canada Day! Celebrate safely 🙂 -The Three Canadian Beauties
