ipsy September 2015 Unboxing

So ipsy has been on a rocky road with me for the last couple months and I decided to get my bag this month and redeem my points. I wasn’t fast enough to get it in before the deadline, so I will get my item in the October bag… So I will have another one for sure.

Why has ipsy been on a rocky road with me? Because I haven’t been thrilled with the items I have been getting. Plus, I am not sure how many times I have to say that I don’t want nail polish, I have gotten it in my last three bags, including this one. Plus, with the bad exchange rate, the bag becomes too expensive for what I am getting and keeping from the bag.

Anyway, with that being said, this bag wasn’t bad. Let’s get into the items that were included.

December 2014 Ipsy Unboxing!

I noticed the brush is missing from my shot! oops! It was probably on the bottom of my bag. Sorry. But it is highlighted below 🙂

This month’s theme is Thinking of You. When I opened my envelope, it was all squished inside, and having seen a few openings, I am not the only one. The bag is, well, let’s just say that if I had a young daughter, I would give it to her to play with. There are other months where the bags are great and they are good quality, this is not one of those months. However, I do like the colour of it! I can see that it would be hard and awkward to get things inside, the bag is already creased. Meh.

Ipsy Glam Bag Unboxing – October 2014

The teal bag is nice this month, I may actually use it. I find sometimes that the bags are cheap and smelly, but this month’s bag isn’t.

There is always some goodies in these Glam Bags from Ipsy. This October’s bag was pretty good! This month’s Glam Bag is called Beauty Candy and here is what it looks like:

MicaBeauty Mineral Eyeshadow in Reluctance

“MicaBeauty® Mineral Eye Shadows’ glamorous shimmers will give you the look you always wanted. MicaBeauty® Mineral Makeup is extremely gentle, free of preservatives, chemicals, dyes, talc, oils, and other fillers. With this unique formula, your Eye Shadows will look ultra-smooth and stay put for hours without creasing or pulling the delicate eye area”.

Unfortunately, I already own this eye shadow, in the same colour. So I will be passing it on. Regardless, this is a nice shadow, good quality and pigmentation. Although I am not a huge fan of loose eye shadows because they are messy, this is one that I keep in my collection because it has a nice green glitter colour.

Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths

“When you’re too tired to deal with the whole cleanser and wash cloth routine, these on-the-go foaming cloths are the ultimate skin savior. Infused with Icelandic glacial waters and beneficial natural extracts, they sweep away makeup, dirt, oil and other impurities while refreshing and soothing stressed skin. Best of all, there’s no water required. It has a clean scent, never tacky. Great for travel or every day”!

I am excited to see these cloths, I like makeup removing wipes, when you don’t have the time to do a deep cleanse, this is a good alternative. I was happy to see these and excited to try them out.

Doll 10 Beauty H2Glo Highlighter in Champagne

“Doll 10’s H2Glo Highlighter features a lightweight cream formula that glides on easily and blends beautifully to help you achieve a truly dewy complexion. Add a dose to your cheeks, brows, dĂ©colletĂ©, or wherever impulse strikes, for a healthy hint of highlighting sheen”.

I love highlighters, and always happy to try a new one. I do not have any cream ones, so this will be a good try out. The size of this highlighter is actually a good size, I am not sure if it’s full size. When I swatched this, it is very smooth but doesn’t look every pigmented. I will have to try it on the skin to see how it comes out.

Figs & Rouge Nourishing & Soothing Hang Cream in Mango Mandarin

“Figs & Rouge Shea Butter Enriched Limited Edition Hand Creams are deliciously fragrant & indulgent. These delectable creams soften, nourish & thoroughly pamper hands throughout the day, quickly absorbing to provide super-soft skin. Apply Figs & Rouge Hand Cream onto your hands and massage into skin throughout the day as needed”.

I like this cream and its size, very good to put in your purse. The formula feels watery when you rub your hands together, absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel greasy. It does smell exactly like a mix of mango and mandarin and it is not over powering. Good item, it is now in my purse!

Starlooks Lip Gloss in Guilty Pleasures

“Starlooks Lip Glosses are created with a truly moisturizing, luxury, non-sticky formula. This neutral-rose, yet glamorous shade provides the perfect glisten for any lip look and complements any skin tone! Can be worn alone or in combination with other Starlooks lip products for a truly customizable finish”

Nice colour and good sample size but since I already own many lip glosses, I will pass this item on.

Come back to see my November Ipsy Glam Bag Unboxing!

My 3 months of Ipsy

Nat was introduced to Ipsy from a friend of hers at work. Upon seeing frequent posts on her friends facebook about a mysterious “Glam Bag” Nat inquired, was roped in and after twisting my arm for what felt like forever… I was too.

For those who don’t know what Ipsy is… read on! For those who already do and don’t need a refresher, skip to the next paragraph below. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that features premium samples from a variety of beauty brands. You usually receive 4-5 products valued around $25 give or take plus a cute little make up bag that they affectionately refer to as the “glam bag.” After tax and shipping it’s a little less than $15 for Canadians. You can check them out here.

I signed up for Ipsy with the intent to spend less than $15 a month, receive a cute little mini-haul of make up in the mail and hopefully experiment with some new products! I was prepared to stay signed up indefinitely given the tiny price tag.
