Boxycharm in Canada!!!

Hellz yah! I have been waiting for this one, looking at Kathleen Lights’ unboxings every month, drooling over the box. I was so happy when I hear her say the word, they now ship to Canada. I paused the video, went straight to the boxycharm website and signed up. Woo! Since July 2016, they have been shipping to Canada and I got my first box in August.

If you guys don’t know Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box that has been around in the US for a long time and every month they have a theme. This month is “express yourself”, everyone gets the same items. You also accumulate “charms” which you can reclaim for free shipping, or 10, 20 or 30 dollars off a box.

Cost: of course in the US, the box is cheaper… hurray for the Canadian dollar… The box is $21 US + 5 shipping to Canada. So total Canadian $33.81. Up to you to decide if it is worth it. Let’s see what is included below with a full tally of the value of the box!

The box contains 5 full size items (not samples like other subscriptions).

Aloette Aloepure Skincare – Time Repair Serum – $48 US

Time repair serum is a powerful age-defying skin care complex, fortified with apha and beta hydroxy acids to smooth away dead skin cells and powerful antioxidants to protect skin from damaging free radicals. Formulated fro all skin types, this nonirritating. lightweight formula absorbs quickly to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a renewed radiance.

Apply time repair serum mornings and evening to face and neck after cleansing. Follow with a moisturizer and sunscreen.

I was happy to see this item, anti-aging is interesting to an almost 33 year old lol. The packaging is nice, it is a nice pump that doesn’t pump too much product at once and it is in a nice glass bottle. The serum feels nice but the down side is that it has a perfume smell, which I am not thrilled about.

Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick – $10 US

Create a long lasting velvet matte lip with this gorgeous liquid lipstick newly launched bu Dirty Little Secret

I think this is super cute because the packaging looks like Minnie Mouse (if you didn’t know I am a huge fan of Disney). It may go on display for that reason. The shade is not my kind of shade and I did notice the swatch bleed a bit on my hand (you can see it a bit in the picture) but I would have to try it with a lip liner to see if it would do that on the lips.

Doucce Cosmetics Maxlash Volumizer Mascara – $22 US

The creamy and vibrant formula recreates a khol effect leaving your lashes thick, extremely volumized, and fashion forward. The extra long bristles combined with patented SEPA technology separate your lashes one by one before adding instant volumization.

Big claims! I am excited to try it! I have received a couple of other things from Doucce and they have been good, so I hope this same of this mascara. I didn’t want to open it as I don’t it go bad before I get a chance to really get into it.

Coastal Scents Blush + Bronzer Mini Palette with brush – $13.95 + 6 US

Everything for a stunning face, all in one palette! It’s all about your creativity… it’s all about your look!

This could be a nice travel palette, it swatches nice. I would have to try out the colours, especially the bronzer to see if it is a good shade, but overall it looks promising.

Beauty For Real Shadow Stix – $19 US

This paraben free and cruelty free, long-wearing, cream-to-powder eyeshadow stick is easy to apply and is infused with meadowfoam seed oil to moisturize, rejuvenate and reduce signs of aging.

I was happy to see this in the box because I have been into a shadow pencil kick. Excited to try this.

Overall, the box contained $118.95 US worth of items – $154.55 CAD. For having paid $34 I think this is pretty good.

I am happy with this box, especially because it is full-size items. I used to love (and miss) Wantable as a subscription since it had full-size makeup items and being able to costumize what you were getting was a huge plus. But it was way more expensive (over $50 CAD) plus they added a fee recently for Canada… ugh. too rich for my blood.

Much like Wantable, Boxycharm has brands that I don’t always know, which I love. Getting to try new things and discover new brands is load of fun. That is how I discovered Ofra, they weren’t as recognized when Wantable first started adding them to their box. So I hope boxycharm allows me to discover other brands too and it is MUCH cheaper.

What do you think? Will you get this sub?
