Special Yay or Nay Sunday – Nay Products

On this special Yay or Nay Sunday, we are looking at products that were all Nays for me and that I regret purchasing.

With trying so many beauty products, it is almost impossible to not run into some products that just don’t work for me or are just not good. Some of these brands create awesome products, so this is not a reflection on the brand, just these specific products that just don’t work for me for whatever reason.

L’Oréal Freida’s nude and Julianne’s nude

These are great colours. what I don’t like is the L’Oréal lipsticks all together. It’s the smell, I can’t do it, I just can’t. Plus, they are more expensive than other lipsticks at the drugstore that I prefer, Revlon’s Lustrous lip line, Maybelline Matte line and the Rimmel Londen Kate Moss lines are much cheaper than better and without the smell. Now if you don’t mind the smell of the L’Oréal lipsticks, then you would like these, the colours of these nudes are great. I will be passing these on as I didn’t even wear them, I couldn’t get passed the smell.

Milani Matte Lipsticks

So these are raved about all over YouTube, and to be honest, they are good, but not great. I tried them and for me, they are too drying so I ended up not wearing them.  I like a lipstick that I can put on and forget about it, not one that I can feel set on my lips just to have it bother me after application until I remove it or it fades. I find it settled and was drying, but that is just my preference, as I don’t like the feeling of dry lips! I would recommend the Maybelline Matte lipsticks instead, those are the best ones at the drug store.

Kat Von D Transformer Liquid Lipstick

I did a Yay or Nay Sunday on this Transformer, you can see it here.  Well put simply, I never use it. Why? It defeats the purpose of a liquid lipstick as it doesn’t dry like a liquid lipstick does and it is not matte. Plus, I also think that it not worth its price tag of $23. Did it transform my liquid lipstick? Yes. Did I like it? No. Will it just stay in my collection unused? Yup.

Julep Eyeshadow Palettes

IMG_1029So these I decided to include them in the post for the simple reason that I just don’t reach for them or want to reach for them. It makes me sad because the other Julep eyeshadows, their duos, are excellent, this palette is just not. They aren’t the worse palettes on the market, but I find the colours get muddy together and it is very very powdery, too much so. The price isn’t too horrible when you can get them on sale around $19.99 and the brush is pretty good on them too. I kept the brushes and gave these to a better home. I still use and love the Duos from Julep.

LORAC MEGA PRO 2

I know, I know, don’t be angry with me. I have already rejected some products that others rave about… and well this one is no different. Let me get it straight though, the quality of the product is not why I regret purchasing this one. I was excited to get it because I just happened to be in Florida when it released last October. Lorac is hard to find in Canada, actually, almost impossible, so it was exciting for me as I wasn’t able to get my hands on the Lorac Mega Pro 1. The reason I don’t like it is the exact reason why I wanted to buy it, the colour selection. I thought it was different and I don’t have palettes that have that selection. Well, with those colours, I found I had trouble making looks that I liked with it or that didn’t turn out like I wanted.. and for that reason I don’t use it and for that reason I regret getting this… whamp whamp.

That’s it for now. Let me know what you regret purchasing, I always love to read those posts!
