Nat’s March 2016 Favourites!

This monthly favourites will include my February and March ones since I missed them last month. I have been getting back into makeup and it feels good especially since my stay at the hospital. Since giving birth and getting out of the hospital, some days I do minimal, some days I go all out. So this has allowed me to bring some old favourites and new ones. So let’s get to it!

Of course my favourite of the month is my beautiful little princess Leia born early on March 3 🙂

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer – Redness Correcting Primer

With pregnancy, I had major red nose going on (thank you hormones for the nose swelling…) and my cheeks have more red blotches.  My nose was also very dry due to getting a cold in Feb and also due to the nasal swelling during pregnancy, there was no fixing it until this baby came. So off on the hunt I went to find a combination that wouldn’t dry out my nose more and would help the redness. Any concealer I tried, no matter how creamy, just made it worse, so I pulled this sample out. Bingo! It reduces the redness and doesn’t dry out my nose. It doesn’t take it all away, at that point, I didn’t think any product would, but it did help. It also didn’t make it dry so that when I applied my foundation, it didn’t accentuate all my dry nose spots.

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation

Every day that I wear foundation, I have reached for this one ever since I got it. I love how it makes my skin look luminous and gives just enough coverage while making my skin look naturally pretty and not cakey at all. For a full review, check out my post here. Since then, I purchased another colour, W2 since the N2 was just a little to pink.

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Nude Pop

I’ve been doing no makeup makeup looks and just natural makeup on some days and this blush just adds enough colour without looking “done up”. It has just enough glow and it looks very natural. I love this colour and this line of blushes. I love these blushes, that is no secret and I love busting them out, they never disappoint me. I think it is a testament to the quality of a product that you keep reaching for.

Hourglass Ambient Powder in Dim Light

I have reviewed the ambient powder palette with the 3 shades before and I am still a fan. Since I used most of the Dim Light colour, I decided to get one during the sale in November. Well, I don’t regret it. I love the powder, it gives life to my skin and it is a great finishing powder. Even when I use powder foundation, I find it just makes everything more natural with a glow and non-cakey finish. I use it every day no matter the look I am doing. I use a fluffy powder brush such as the Real Techniques Powder Brush to apply it all over the face and it gives a great finish.

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Mudslide

I am very much a fan of these Boxum lip creams/glosses and I decided to pull out this one since I needed something perfect for every day look. Since on most days lately I am not doing full-face makeup since I am mostly just going back and forth to the hospital, I wanted something simple, lovely and that would go with a natural makeup day. Since I own the small size of this lipgloss because I got it in a Christmas kit, it is also great to through in my purse or pocket. This one is a winner that I will keep reaching for and it just finishes a look perfectly and feels refreshing on the lips.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita

I know I mentioned this before but I had to mention it again. This has been a long-time favourite and I had lost my tube of it and I was very sad. It is one of the lipsticks that I actually missed. In the size of collection that most of us bloggers have, one lipstick is often forgotten. For me to actually miss it quite often and wanted to reach for it but couldn’t speaks volumes. It was misplaced for months… MONTHS!! I have been cleaning and organizing my house in anticipation to bringing my baby girl home and in doing so, I FOUND IT!! It was lost in a bottom of a basket in a purse with a bunch of stuff pilled on top if it… And since I found it, I have been wearing it when I go out other places than the hospital. The colour is so universal and goes with so many looks. Plus it is smooth, stays on long for a lipstick and well, I just love it. From the formula, the colour and packaging = 🙂 ❤
