Nat introduced me to Ulta during our awesome trip to Florida. I was super stoked to see what America had to offer, and I was not disappointed! Soooooo many beautiful travel kits and holiday sets! It just makes my heart swoon!
The issue was, however, that we only had ONE hour to shop before the store closed! One hour?! CUE THE MISSION IMPOSSIBLE THEME MUSIC! (duh, duh, du-du, duh, duh, du-du, duh, duh, du-du, duh, duh, du-du. doodledoo, doodledoo, doodle doo, doo-doo!)
I decided to do my usual binge then purge mode of shopping. The first half hour I filled my basket to the BRIM with yummy make-up goodies and then I spent the next half hour deciding what I reeeallly wanted. I must’ve had a basket worth a thousand dollars. So I slimmed down to about $170 USD with four Bare Minerals sets.
Believe it or not, I haven’t had a chance to try these beauties out so more in depth posts and tests are coming about these lovelies (so stay tuned!). I will tell you that bareMinerals has been in the game for over 35 years and using ingredients that should help improve skin. I love make-up that does ‘double duty’ so it was about time that I delved into this brand.
THE REGAL WARDROBE: This 12 piece eye and cheek palette had me at ‘Regal’. I mean, Princess Kate is doing a bang-up job put I’m pretty sure I could rock some of those diamond tiaras just as well ;). Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to settle for dressing up my cheeks and eyes with the bronzer in ‘Skinny Dip’ (light tan), the blushes in ‘The Love Letter’ (warm mauve) and ‘The Summer Fling’ (creamy peach), the Luminizer in ‘The Brillant Sunset’ (shimmering perfection!), and eight gorgeous eyeshadows Regal (velvet plum), Treasure Hunt (shimmering taupe), Natural (light buttery peach), Cognac (gilded bronze), Namaste (sandy brown), 500 Thread Count (airy pink), Romp (iridescent lilac), Flash (matte purple clay). Because bareMinerals is all about buildability, the swatches didn’t really turn out camera wise. But I consider that a good thing. I’m at the point right now that I want a HINT of color not a smattering. The formulas feel soft and light to the touch and they don’t dust up a ton which is important for a travel set. It retails at $39 USD.
ONE HOT MAMA: This bareMinerals product boasts that this kit has “5 must-haves for busy moms”. It includes a mini well-rested face & eye brightener, glee all-over face color, mini flawless application face brush, flawless definition mascara, and marvelous moxie lipgloss in Smooth Talker. It’s pretty much everything you need for a 5 minute minimalist face and it comes in an adorable pouch with a spring hook so you can snap it on the outside of an overflowing purse/diaper bag. Can’t wait to try a look out with these basics! It retailed at $39 USD
LOVE AT FIRST KISS: Once again bareMinerals had me at the name. I mean how awwww inducing is “Love at First Kiss”?! I already feel cherished and I haven’t even had a chance to try out any of the TEN wearable lipsticks included in this kit! This kit has all the hot fall/winter colors and I’m beyond looking forward to reviewing them. Retailing at $36 USD I think this kit is the ultimate Christmas set for those who love lipstick but are too timid to get the ‘high fashion’ lipstick sets from Urban Decay and Kat von D. (Bright green lips can work for Rihanna on the red carpet … but definitely not appropriate for buying milk at the local supermarket)
ENCHANTED BEAUTY: Last but not least, we have the Enchanted Beauty set. It is a seven piece eye and lip collection all wrapped up in an amazing gold make-up case. It’s one of those soft cases that roll out so you can hang it on the back of a bathroom door. Bravo bareMinerals! Your brand has officially raised the ‘free’ make-up case bar for all others! This set includes Enchanted Beauty All-Over Face Color, Enrapture Eyecolor (soft metallic gold), Tempted Eyecolor (jeweled plum brown), Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eye Liner in Absolute Black, Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Take Charge (nude rose), Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Wild Beauty (golden caramel), and a Precision Eye & Cheek Brush. It retails at $45 USD and could just be my ‘Holy Grail’ of travel kits. Keep following this blog to find out!
All in all I think I have a good array of bareMinerals products to see whether or not I will like this brand. I look forward to playing around with my new kits and sharing my thoughts! Have a good day everyone!
