Sometimes a product doesn’t work out for me. Unless I’m really turned off on it, I try to find other ways to use it. Most of the time it doesn’t work out but every once in a while I’ve been able to redeem a product that otherwise wouldn’t work for me! Here’s a few combos that turned around some failing beauty products. Enjoy!
Andalou Moroccan Beauty Oil + Simple moisturizer = kicked up and customized moisture
I picked up the Simple moistuirzer on the road because I was in a bind. It isn’t very rich and leaves my skin still thirsty after I use it. Unfortunately when I got back from my trip I didn’t have a lot of money left over to go get something better so I had to find a way to make it work. I started adding 2 drops of the Andalou Moroccan Beauty Oil to the moisturizer before applying and found that that made a huge difference! The only draw back is oil takes longer to absorb so you need to give yourself a few extra minutes before you start applying makeup.
Vincent Luongo Gloss in Capri Bronze + Stila Liquid Lipstick in Aria = Fall goodness
I wasn’t happy with the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Aria. I love the Lip Vinyl that I own but I find that the Liquid Lipstick is hard to apply (at least in this shade). It feathers a little and slides around until it dries. It’s hard to get a decent application without using a brush. I also find that the colour is a bit too dark for me. Before I gave it away I tried it with the Vincent Luongo Gloss in Capri Bronze. Those 2 colours are GORGEOUS together! Great for fall 🙂 Bronze plus a deep plum colour looks so rich. Plus the gloss tends to blur out the unevenness around the edges of my lips.
Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss + Watts Up highlight = soft but defined lips
I have a sample size that Nat gave me of the Watts Up Highlight from Benefit. I’m not a fan of using it on my cheeks because of the texture. I tried to find other ways to use it before I gave up on it and quickly found that it fits nicely on my cupids bow above my lips. I use it now as a lipstick highlight for the cupids bow to add a little definition to my lips. I especially love it with the Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss in shade #257. It’s a soft raspberry colour. I don’t know why but I think those 2 products go together like PB&J for my lips!
Anyone else have any great combos or interesting ways to use a product? I’d love to hear it!
