If you have been following me on Instagram, and seen my Stila vs Sephora post, you know that I have been testing liquid lipsticks the past few weeks.
With that being said, this week on Yay or Nay Sunday, I am talking about the OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks!
This review will be short and sweet because it is a very straight forward. This is the best liquid lipstick that I have tried so far. The formula is a bit more like a mousse compared to it’s competitors which gives it an easy and smooth application.
It is long wearing and feels very comfortable on my lips; I even forgot that I had it on! This is very important for me because I have very dry lips and I cannot stand it when my lips feel dry, I constantly apply lip balm.
Before I get into more details, let’s look at swatches!
I own 5 colours:
- Malibu (my favourite)
- Santa Ana
- Pasadena (looks more brown on me – good for fall!)
I noticed that darker colours of liquid lipsticks look better on me. The lighter ones tend to make the lines in my lips more pronounced, but I have liked the darker shades.
The only thing I will say is that is transfers a little bit more than other brands. But as you can see, it was very minimal. I think that the fact that the formula is more like a mousse, it makes it a little less setting, but that is also what makes it less drying.
Let’s test it out!
I applied Malibu at 7:30am and I had lunch at 12:30pm and it was still on and I didn’t feel the need to apply lip balm. I had no issues with the lipstick moving, feathering or anything. It stayed in place very well for a good 5h before I tried to remove it after having lunch. I had to try very hard to get it all off!
The Nitty Gritty
I only found these on the OFRA website but they do ship to Canada for $9.95. Each lipstick retails for $19.90 USD so with the exchange, it is a little ridiculous. However, if you can use a code, like the Kathleen Lights code right now for 40% off, after the exchange and the shipping, they come out a little under the full price. So up to you if they are worth the price 🙂 I think I will order myself a few others like Kathleen Lights collaboration with OFRA Cosmectics, the colour is called Miami Fever.
Have you tried these? If so, what do you think?
