Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks! Stila vs Sephora

Hey Guys!

I have been testing out liquid lipsticks since I decided to try them for work. I spend a lot of time in meetings and I don’t always have the time to go back to my office between meetings to reapply my lipstick. So I decided to venture to the the world of liquid! I have been staying away because I cannot stand dry lips. I obsessed with lip balm and reapply like a fiend but I wanted to take to a leap of faith!

I wanted a neutral every day colour and pulled these 2 out of my collection. Noticed how similar they are…

So let’s see who are are contestants for today. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina – $29 CAD vs Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 13 (Marvelous Mauve) – 18$ CAD. Let’s take a look at them side by side.

I dare you to guess where one starts and the other finishes!

So about the formula. I tested both. And drum roll, I preferred the Sephora one. Why? Because it felt less drying and was more comfortable on the lips. Both formulas are good, don’t get me wrong, the Stila one is good too, but it was more drying for me. The only thing that I noticed with the Stila one is that it left a little film on the inside of my lip but this was after about 4h of wear and drinking water and coffee. Both formulas are long wearing, have the same great colour and last a long time. They are very similar. The one thing I would say about the Sephora one is that I own 2 shades and on both the cap doesn’t always go on and clip properly. You can sorta see it in the 1st picture of the post.

Overall, I would go for the Sephora one, why? For the small differences between the two, I would save 11$ and get the Sephora one and I find that they are more wearable shades.
