Nope, nope… summer CAN’T be over… I am in denial… I just can’t believe how fast it went and that back to school is already here. It hit me the other day when I walked into Wal-Mart and saw all the “back to school” stuff and I thought to myself “pfff, it’s only July…oh wait… darn it, it’s end of August”… Anyway, since the month felt like a blur, I didn’t think I had many monthly favourites, but then I started really looking at my stash and realized I had more than I thought! Apparently I was into bronzy glow this month! So here we go!
Also, check out the video I did on these monthly favs.
bareMinerals READY Luminizer in The Magic Moment
This is a mini version of this luminizer but I love it and I am sure that it will take a while to get through it. I love this highlighter, it is subtle enough that it gives a glow but not a huge glitter bomb, perfect for the office. It is also a nice bronze glow, it is perfect for the summer and with a slight tan.
Essie Nail Polish In Perennial Chic
I got this nail polish in my Topbox mid-month and I instantly fell in love with it. It is my perfect peachy nude that I want for a nice subtle look. As you can see, my nails are pretty beat up and short so I want to avoid bright colours to attract attention to them. This colour is just perfect for a little glamour and to hide my bad nails. The peachy-ness of the colour also makes me look a bit more tanned. A winner in my book.
essence Silky Touch Blush in 50 sweetheart
On days that I want something natural, or a no makeup makeup day, I will reach for this blush. It is natural and beautiful and with its low price tag, it is a winner in my book. It gives a natural colour, just enough to look like nice naturally rosy cheeks. I used it a lot on the days that I either didn’t want a lot of makeup or just needed a little flush on my cheeks not to look so dead.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz
Here is another glowy beauty of all shimmerness! What? lol I love the Shimmer Bricks and this one is no exception, this one allows for the same kinda of bronze glow but this one is a lot more in-your-face highlight and it just as beautiful on the skin than in the pan.
Milani Baked Blush in 03 Berry Amore
This is another great one. The opposite to the subtle colour that the essence blush mentioned above, it gives a darker colour and has some sheen in it. I wore this on days that I wanted, again, a bronzed look, but I didn’t need to add a highlight. I have really enjoyed this baked blush, it blends nicely and evenly and holds just enough pigment to not make it look like a clown after the first swipe and enough to build it up to your liking.
Pur-lisse Essential Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30
I love this moisturizer when I am going out in the sun and won’t be wearing makeup (like foundation or cc creams) with SPF already in them. This was a must have at the cottage or weekends with no makeup or little to no makeup. I used it all summer but mostly in August. We all know how important it is to protect your skin from the sun and keep wearing SPF everyday, even if its not the summer or on cloudy days, the UV rays are still active.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Light Plus
I used this as part of my no makeup makeup days. It is a good powder to use as a finishing powder with a fluffy brush, but I used it with a more dense brush to add a bit more coverage. It also did not catch in my dry skin. Win!
