May has been awesome! I’ve managed to get lots of time outside throughout May and April. Summer doesn’t normally start so soon for us so I’m especially happy with that! Of course, with the change in the season means a change in makeup. Here’s my favourites for the month of May:
NARS Tinted Moisturizer
Full review coming! There’s tons to say about this product but as you may have guessed, if it’s in my monthly faves I’m going to say good things 🙂 I’ve been using this several times a week since I bought it and I’m considering buying the full sized version (I purchased a premium sample size to test it out since it’s so expensive).
The Body Shop Tea Tree Gel
This is actually a “Holy Grail” item for me. It has been since I was a teen. For those who might not know, tea tree oil is a natural way to dry up pimples without drying out your skin. Whenever I get a pimple I dab some of this on it and within hours it’s noticeably drying up. It’s usually gone the next day – assuming I hadn’t picked at it first! I got a huge nasty pimple from some sunscreen I was trying and repurchased this baby. Next day, it’s gone! Love this stuff. It’s perfect for the one or 2 occasional pimples.
Quo Crease Blender Brush
I really like this brush because it has a bullet shaped tip. I use it for accurate placement and sweeping out of shadow around the corner of my eye. It’s really great for making the “magic triangle” people talk about on Pinterest. Love this brush.
Body Shop Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm in Strawberry
It hydrates. It glides on. It smells amazing. What else do you need in a lip balm? This little guy was $6. It now has a home in my purse. It’s perfect. It’s even better since it was a cheap cash register item and The Body Shop was having a sale where you buy 3 items and get 30% off… this was my third item so it worked out to be free and then some!
Julep Feels Like Velvet Eyeshadow Duo in 5th Avenue & Broadway
Nat wrote a full review on them here. I also quite like them! Unlike her I just use one at a time because I’m a lover of the simple 1 or 2 shadow look. Mainly because I’m lazy. I love the soft gold in 5th Avenue & Broadway! I use it for a 1 shadow, all over the lid look and then buff out the edges with the peach. They’re so easy to blend that this look takes me barely a minute. It’s awesome for minimal makeup days or rushing out the door. I’m a big fan of these duos now.
That’s my round up for the month of May!
