This week on Yay or Nay Sunday, we are talking about a drug store eyeshadow palette, the Hard Candy Sassy Eyes Sultry Eyeshadow Palette
There are 3 of these palettes in the collection, Natural Eyes, Sassy Eyes and Smokey Eyes. They are sold exclusively at Wal-Mart for $7.97 CAD. Great price that’s for sure. I wanted the Natural Eyes palette but it was sold out. These are made to dupe the Too Faced palettes with the same names. They have a similar colour range and packaging.
For these palettes, they have a magnetic closure and a metal case. I find the case a little bulky but the magnet holds it well and closed and a nice size mirror.
The kit comes with this little eyeliner which is surprisingly very creamy, not chalky at all. It smudges quite a bit however… which means that it could transfer easily. But let’s be real, we aren’t going to get this palette for the eyeliner or the primer, its for the shadow.
The primer offers no coverage and blends out well. It is a cream to powder kinda feel. The swatches below are over top the primer. I am not a fan of that formula for a primer and since I have very red lids, I like my primer to cover up and neutralize my lids.
For the star of the post, the eyeshdadow! These colours feel very creamy but some swatch better than others. The first colour of the 2nd row is chunks of glitter, you will see it below. The dark brown is unique with that speckle of gold that I enjoyed. I also wish that the purple was more pigmented it is still nice.
When I applied the shadow, there was a lot of kick up on the shade I used on my crease but everything blended it out well. With a better primer, I am sure these will be STUNNING. I did find that this palette was a bit more difficult to match colours together for a cohesive look. Is it just me??
For the price, I think this is worth it and I would qualify it as a Yay. If you are looking for something similar to the Too Faced but don’t want to dish out the price, head to Wal-Mart and get these.
If you are expecting it to perform just like some eye end shadows, you may be a little disappointed. I really want to try the Natural Palette one since I heard that it was better than this Sassy Eyes.

In the look below, I used the 3rd colour in the 2nd row in the crease, the purple colour in the 1st row all over the lid, the 1st colour of the 2nd row to highlight the corner of my eyes and as a brow highlight and the darkest colour of the palette, the last of the 3rd row.
Hope you enjoyed this Yay or Nay Sunday and that it was useful for you!!
