This month was really hard to think of monthly favourites because I’ve been testing a lot of stuff in February. I feel bad because some of my favourites are new discoveries that I’m working on full reviews for. I suppose that this is one of the challenges of beauty blogging! Once I thought about it I realized that I have a tendency to reach for certain products but they just aren’t that sexy. Sometimes I want to write about the newest, most gorgeous eyeshadow palette but in reality most of my day to day beauty stuff is pretty mundane.
Julep lip gloss in “Lively” – This lippie gloss came from one of my Maven boxes and I love it! It’s the easiest red to wear. I can slap it on and go. It’s my new favourite from Julep’s line. It just gives my lips that little something to make them look coloured and fresh but not really a lipstick. I love it with a natural eye look. The amazing cotton candy-esque scent really adds to my love of these lip glosses too 🙂
Essence Setting Powder – I’ve been trying out using it over a setting spray. It seems odd but it’s been working really well for me. I do my foundation routine, use my setting spray (currently back on Pur Minerals setting spray as mentioned in a previous monthly favourites) and once it all sets I go back over my T-zone with this setting powder. Sometimes even matte setting sprays are too dewy for me so this just really helps control the oil in the t-zone. I’m really digging it. I also found a really great youtube video where this women tests the Essence About Matt setting powder vs one from Make Up Forever. You should watch it – it’s really quite impressive! I’ve linked it here.
Annabelle Brow Pencil – I wrote a $10 Weekly on it and I wasn’t just making things up in order to write a post. I really do enjoy it and it’s made its way in to my brow routine. I’ve been using it ever since but since I already wrote about it I won’t bore you again with the details. You can read it here.
Smashbox 24 HR Eyeshadow Primer – This is my tried and true eyeshadow primer. My Holy Grail if you will. It basically makes your eyeshadow water proof and I freakin’ love it! Recently I was reminded of how much I love it when I decided to try a new primer by Lorac… it creased, it felt dry it didn’t help me blend but my Smashbox one helps with blending, longevity, colour and makes it water proof. It also doesn’t cause a reaction for me – a great bonus since I sometimes react to Urban Decay Primers.
Anyway, that sums it up! I can honestly say that those 4 products have been my go-to’s all month, and in some cases even longer! I’m sorry if I already mentioned a few in the past but hey, it happens 🙂
