Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day & Night Face Cream – A Review

The Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day & Night Cream is an anti-aging everyday moisturizer. It’s intended to be used in the morning and at night, if needed. The ingredients are packed with natural remedies that are believed to be healthy for your skin and non-toxic. I purchased this moisturizer at Kardish for $14.99 and used it regularly for about a month. Let’s begin by discussing Pacifica’s claims.

Does it actually reduce fine lines? I’m 32 so reducing fine lines and anti-aging are things that interest me however I can’t say I noticed a difference after using this moisturizer. In truth – I have never found a moisturizer that lived up to that claim.

A true day AND night cream? They also claim that you can use this moisturizer as day and night which to me implies it could be used as a night cream. Night creams are usually a thicker moisturizer that takes longer for the skin to absorb in order to help repair the skin as you sleep. If you feel the need to have a night cream to repair sun damage, combat severe dry skin etc you should likely look to a cream that is intended for those purposes. The Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day & Night Cream is more of a general cream. When I was using it I found that I had to continue to treat my skin ailments with oil, it wasn’t able replace that component of my skin care routine. Since I already had a night time treatment routine it didn’t bother me that the Pacifica moisturizer couldn’t cut it in that department but if you’re in the market for a day & night cream you might need to consider your skins needs a little more.

As a day cream I found that it definitely had some high points. It absorbs quickly in to my skin and doesn’t leave a residue. It doesn’t have harsh skin irritants such as perfumes, dyes, sulfates etc so it was very gentle on my sensitive skin. It’s a light moisturizer that pairs well with heavier treatments. For example, I use rose oil on my sensitive spots above my eyebrows and on my cheeks (I have mild rosacea on my cheeks). I find that if I use oil to treat my isolated skin issues and then put a moisturizer on top of it to nourish the rest of my skin, I can be more “glowy” in the oil treated spots. This cream is rather light so it pairs well with my oil on the days I choose to treat my skin (I no longer need to do oil treatments daily). I should also mention that I haven’t had any break outs using this moisturizer. I think as a day cream this could suit a person with regular skin types or even possibly a combo to oily skin type. If you have dry skin you might find that this moisturizer still needs a helping hand to do what you need it to do.

The Packaging: The Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day & Night Moisturizer comes in a tall pump container that protects the ingredients from light and air exposure. This type of packaging is better than a jar packaging because it helps the ingredients inside remain stable over time allowing you to continue to be able to use it in 6 months. Pacifica also has this really intricate yoga inspired branding that I am a sucker for. I really do enjoy the packaging and presentation of this product.

It even has inspirational messages on the box! It’s so pretty 🙂

Overall: For $14.99 the Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day & Night cream is a great value. It’s an oddly flexible moisturizer that is quite affordable. Since I play with oils and spot treatments I would consider repurchasing this moisturizer. As I said above, I’d recommend it to someone with regular or combo-oily skin types. If you’re dry you could consider doing oil treatments like I do and using this moisturizer or you could just get a moisturizer intended for dry skin 🙂
