On this week’s Yay or Nay Sunday, BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Trio!
These are a… YAY!
I wasn’t going to do a post on these because you cannot find this trio in the store anymore, but since they are part of the regular makeup line (check them out here) then if you are interested in the items, you can go out and get the full size ones.
I must admit the trio was one of the best kits that I purchased over the holiday season. It wasn’t originally on my list but I have been eyeing the Skin Perfectors in powder form for a while and after returning a few items, (well, my husband went to return a couple items for me, I am so spoiled) I asked him to pick this up for me. He found one left, lucky me!
In the winter, I suffer from dry skin, so if I can switch up any of my products for liquid, it gives me less of a “cake face” or less chances of products catching in my dry skin. However, I was skeptical of liquid highlighters and I am usually more a fan of powder products. But I took the leap and it was worth it.
The trio comes with 3 of the 5 available colours in the Shimmering Skin Perfectors, Pearl (white shimmer), Moonstone (yellow shimmer) and Opal (opal pearl).
The Moonstone, as you can see from the swatch below, is yellow tinted. It is not the best match with my skin tone cause could still work with some looks or when I have more of a tan. The Pearl is a great white one, the light made it look a little more yellow than it is in the swatch below, but it is nice and white and pretty, like a nice angelic glow. I have been looking for a white shimmer that is not pink based (like the Stila one) so I enjoy this one very much. My favourite is the Opal, it is very natural looking on my skin and it blends well with the pink-toned blushes that I wear.
These Shimmering Skin Perfectors are not drying on the skin, so that helps them not catch on my dry skin, especially now in the dead of winter. My favourite part and why I am very impressed with them is how they blend. They blend like a dream. I dab a little on the back of my hand and use my Elf small stipple brush to apply the perfector and blend it on my cheek. It doesn’t drag and it doesn’t bleed.
I recommend these and if by some miracle you can get your hands on this trio, it is well worth the $30 price tag. There is a lot of product in that tube and I am sure they will last me a long time. A full-size of these are $50 each and they have 2 colours in their travel tubes for $23. The value in this trio is amazing.
