Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette in Light

After much praise from EmilyNoel83 on youtube I finally broke down and bought my first Sonia Kashuk product. For $10.49 I think that this could potentially be a great buy for someone in the market for a fair priced concealer. Unfortunately for me Target Canada has just announced that they are going bankrupt and so I won’t be able to get Sonia Kashuk for much longer!

The Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette features 3 shades of concealer and a setting powder. I’ve used all shades and the setting powder daily for the past few weeks and I’ve really fallen in love with the texture and quality of this concealer palette. The texture of the concealers are smooth and thick but not too thick. I’d compare their texture to the Benefit Boing Boing cream. They blend out well especially if they are over a more silicone style primer or a liquid foundation. The setting powder sets the concealer and genuinely seems to help with longevity of wear. I even used it on other concealers such as my Maybelline Fit Me concealer and it worked great!

The Hidden Agenda Palette – Swatched. The colour closest to my wrist is my favorite. I use it regularly. The darker tone is has some peach in it and the third has a hint of green. The last swatch is the setting powder. It’s very fair.

Buyer Beware – The Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette appears to be intended to dabble in colour correction. The 3 shades of concealer include a nude shade, a peachier shade, and a greenish shade. I tried to use the colour correction shades and found them to be not quite the right fit for me. The quality is there but the tones seems a little off for a fair skinned person and this is the fair palette! The greenish shade cast a green-yellow hue under my foundation and the peachier shade succeeded in cancelling out my dark circles but was darker than my foundation. I did really like the light more nude shade and the setting powder. I continue to use those today! But sadly I won’t get much use out of the other 2 shades.

Comparing the the darker peachier shade in the Hidden Agenda Palette to the Benefit Erase Paste. The Erase Paste is the first swatch and the Hidden Agenda is the second swatch.

Overall, for $10.49 it bothers me that only half the palette is useful for me specifically BUT it’s still a great price for a setting powder and concealer. I really wish it came in a duo form and I could pay a few dollars less or the same price but get more product. Since this is not the case I’m torn on whether I’d repurchase this product or not. What do you think?
