This week I had planned, months in advance, to be able to do a little clearance shopping. I hit Superstore, Walmart and Target. I was specifically looking for clearance makeup deals that were under $10 an item.
Destination Walmart – I could have spent all of my money here. They had a lot of gift sets to begin with but I was specifically looking for these ones by Flower Cosmetics. I haven’t tried Flower yet but I understood them to be Tarte for the Drugstore so naturally I was very excited. I got the Flower “Eye-See-You” giftset for $9.50 and the “Color in the lines” giftset for $4.50. A steal in my books!
Destination Superstore – I wrote about the giant E.L.F. palette of giftsets earlier this month and went back to grab some on clearance. There was still a decent selection ranging for $2.44 and up. I grabbed the 18 shadow palette for $9.88. They had a 32 shadow one as well for the same price that I might go back for later.
Destination Target – I was quite disappointed that Target didn’t have any giftsets on clearance. In fact, I couldn’t really find anything that constitutes as a giftset. I did manage to score two clearance candles that are worth mentioning since they were regular $19.99 and I got them for $2.99. They also happen to be Yankee Candle , an expensive brand!
Over all I have to say that I am impressed with the goodies I picked up. The Flower Cosmetics giftsets were a great deal and when I played with them I was happy enough with the quality that I’d go back and buy more by that brand. The E.L.F. palette doesn’t swatch very clearly in pics but I have used it and I was really happy with the looks that I managed to create. The only draw back with that palette is that it’s tough to open. All in all, if you have only $10 and want to get yourself a treat – anyone of the items I talked about would be a great buy!
