Missy’s December Favorites

Being in my 9th month of pregnancy for this hectic month meant that beauty had to be achieved on a tight time budget. Year end at work was nuts with 10-12 hour-long work days being followed by Christmas Socials and other holiday events made this VERY pregnant lady eager to put her feet up and sleep more often than stick to a firm beauty routine. Here are my top five beauty products that got me through this crazy month:

smashbox liquid liner

Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen was a great way to add drama to my eye makeup that I had already worn to work. It’s a long-wearing, waterproof liquid liner pen that can easily create a subtle enhancement of a super glam pin-up look. I love that it has ‘magic marker’ tip instead of a brush. This ‘precision tip’ provides smooth and controlled application while also providing constant color dispersion. It’s an easy tool to create a quick, pretty, and dramatic holiday look.

Caudalie Hand And Nail Cream Trio

Caudalie Hand And Nail Cream Trio – Ladies if any of you suffer from psoriasis or severely dry winter skin – run, don’t walk, and buy this brand! My husband got me this trio in early December and my hands have NEVER been this great at Christmas. I suffer from psoriasis on my hands and feet and some years it looks like I have on angry red ‘gloves’ because my skin gets so irritated. Adding insult, to injury most hand creams ‘burn’ me when they’re applied because my skin gets so broken and raw. This stuff is both soothing and moisturizing – it is miraculous!

Bite Beauty x-mas Bite Beauty

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil. How could I NOT give this clever little Christmas package a go after Nat singing this brand’s praises so much? I have to say that I already LOVE chunky lip pencils because they combine a liner and lipstick in one easy step (hellooo time save!) What also made this product amazing is how long-lasting it was. I got through two social dinners without having to reapply until the dessert course. The formula is creamy so that meant that it covered my chapped lips instead of accentuating them and the colours in this set were all flattering on me. Hopefully you were lucky enough to get one of these in your stocking!

avocado-oil
Now Solutions 100% Avocado Oil has been my go-to moisturizer/stretch mark preventer during my ninth month of pregnancy. It has a great consistency and soaks into the skin relatively quickly. I’ve seen some improvements in stretch marks that I’ve already gotten, it has improved the overall tone and condition of my skin, and it’s super soothing on dry/itchy bits. It’s a wonderful eye make-up remover/eye cream and lip balm in a pinch. It’s also relatively cheap. They sell it at Kardish. I only wish I had been using it since the beginning of my pregnancy!

perversion
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara is my new everyday mascara. The formula works well with the brush to allow it to glide on easily with minimal clumps. It’s an easy mascara to layer in order to take your lash look from daytime to nighttime. As a bonus, according to Sephora, it contains Hairdensyl, a complex blend of proteins and amino acids that are known to stimulate lash growth. I haven’t noticed anything extraordinary regarding my lashes, but I will tell you that it lasts through a tough work day and a social event without running or flaking off (we’re talking 18 hours!). Even though it’s not technically water proof, it has held up through a couple of walks through snow storms and one pregnancy hormone-induced cry. I highly recommend this product and will probably be sticking with it for the next few years.
