OK guys, this week is a good one. On Today’s Yay or Nay Sunday, Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows!!!
I hope you are all ready for my ramble of awesomeness. Well, I will say it, these are amaze-balls!! So I was already a fan of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows; they are pigmented, the price is very affordable, cheaper than some at the drugstore (like the L’Oréal Infalliable eyeshadows) and you also get a good amount of product.
Recently, MUG has come out with their new Foiled Eyeshadows. They retail for $9.99 US compared to their other eyeshadow pans at $5.99. However for the pigmentation, for the colour pay off and quality, they are worth it. I only got 4 colours (Houdini, Mesmerized, Grandstand and Flame Thrower) and regret not getting the bundle all 10 shades for $89.99 since I did end up ordering 3 more.
The pigmentation guys, it is amazing. The swatches below do not do them justice, and they do look pigmented in the picture. Since they are foiled, they catch the light beautifully and that’s what’s hard to catch on camera. But I do have to mention that the swatches below are one swipe guys.. ONE SWIPE. holy moly.
I only go them last week and I have worm them everyday since. Makeup Geek describes these as:
Cutting-edge foiled formula that has intense pigmentation and an opaque, metallic, foiled finish in only one swipe.
I agree with that statement. These are a good way to try the pigmented stuff and some colour. There are some, like Granstand that can be used as an everyday, one swipe on the lid and you are out the door colour. I was hoping to have some looks I could take pictures of with these to post on here, but I literally did not see daylight three days. It was dark when I got to work and dark when I left. I do not have windows in my office and anywhere near in my building so yah, I didn’t have any natural light to take a picture that gave these MUG foiled shadows any justice. So what I will try to do is a random post in the coming weeks with the different eye look I create with these. Once I received the other colours, I will make sure to post those too!
When you touch them, they feel like a little soft and spongy. They are hard to drescribe, they are creamy but not, they are like a pressed pigment but not. The closest thing I could compare them too texture wise is the L’Oréal Infalliable eyeshadows but they are more pressed and solid than those.
I would recommend apply them with your fingers and dab them onto the lid. Using these with a brush did not give as much pigment. Trust me, when you put on with your finger, you will LOVE these and they kept their pigmentation. If you want them more muted, go ahead and dab them on with a shader brush.
I will make a Where to Shop Post later for the Canadian Angle on shopping on the MUG website and my experience and shipping costs.
If you have purchase these and have tried them, post below your thoughts and comments on these. Do you love them as much as I do??
