Nat’s November 2014 Favourites

November has already come and gone… what!???!?

I did my Christmas tree on Nov 10th and my Christmas shopping is almost completed and it is not December yet… I LOVE THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!

Hi, my name is Nathalie and I am a Christmas nut, nice to meet you 😉

Yes, 3 of these items are candles…. hangs head in shame… I love burning candles, especially when the weather gets cold. Bath and Body Works has their winter/holiday collection out, and I cannot keep away … Here are 3 of my favourites that I picked up:

Bath and Body Works Mason Jar Candle in Pumpkin Gingerbread

I had a coupon to get a free item of $15 value or less, so I got this mason jar candle. And I do not regret it. I really enjoy the sweet smelling candles, this one is the perfect scent I was looking for, sweet but doesn’t end up turning your stomach after burning it for a while. I usually burn these types of candles on the main floor of my house because it is small and near the kitchen, seems appropriate!

Mama is gonna go get her a full size 3-wick of this baby.

Bath and Body Works 3-Wick Candle in Fresh Sparkling Snow

This one, so hard to describe, it smells like walking in a fresh coat of snow while eating candy… It is a soft smell that lingers for a while. This is actually burning right now as I sit here writing this post. Smells so lovely!

Bath and Body Works 3-Wick Candle in Marshmallow Fireside

I got this one with my husband in mind (he likes candles, but shhh don’t tell anyone!).  It is a little bit of sweet and savory. The hint of sweet does smell like marshmallows but the savory is so nice, could smell like a fire or a hint of sandlewood but not as woodsy… Either way, I think this is one that if your husband hesitates with the candles, he may enjoy this one cause it is not fruity or girly.

And now for items other than candles!!!

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita

NARS - Audacious LipstickI did not have the intention to get any of these lipsticks and it was not on my list to get either, I didn’t buy in to the hype on these $37 lipsticks… However, as you may have seen in my post about my Sephora VIB Sale Haul, I grabbed it (go see my story on how I was able to snag it!). This was just a grab on a whim kinda item… and I do NOT regret it. As you all may or may not know, I am obsessed with Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipsticks so I did not see myself loving another brand as much. However, this formula is similar and will for sure rival the Bite Beauty ones (even if Bite Beauty still owns my lippie heart).

I have been wearing this lipstick non-stop. One swatch on my hand and I was in LOVE. I do own one of the old NARS lipstick formulas and this one is MUCH better. NARS hit a home run with this formula. It is creamy, it lasts, it is not drying – especially for a matte lipstick! This colour is quite literally a my-lips-but-better colour; it is my perfect match and it goes with any look that I do, especially for work. And of course, we cannot forget the awesome magnetic closure 😉

Recommend, recommend, recommend!

Julep Nail Polish in Fazia

I think this is my perfect dark red for this season. It’s got just a hint of sheen in it for a classy look. In the pic below, I have combined it with Yumi to add a little glitter.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

I picked up this item during a 20x points event at Shoppers Drug Mart and it was for sure worth the $12 price tag. I love the High Impact Mascara by Clinique, so I thought I would give this one a try. I have big lashes and I don’t like when my bottom lashes look too long (almost as long as my top lashes) so for a while I wasn’t even putting mascara on them for that reason. But lately I have been, but I want a mascara that is very natural looking without too much lengthening or plumping. With my big lashes, they also tend to touch under my eyes and create a nice undesired raccoon look. So I was using the Maybelline Great Lash waterproof mascara. The reason is because the brush is small which made it very easy to apply to bottom lashes. The formula is also very natural looking and this is still a good option for me if I need the waterproofing. The reason I love the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is because the brush is miniscule and makes it very easy to apply the mascara to the small lashes. The formula is also perfect for my bottom lashes; they come out not too big or prominent and very natural looking. I am very surprised that not more companies have these mascaras!
