This month I have LOTS to discuss. All of the gift sets are out. All the fall and Christmas colours are in stores. It’s the makeup lover’s season, that’s for sure! Rather than sing the praises of all the same products that other bloggers are, I will make a note at the end of my post of the honorable mentions. I’m going to try to use this November faves to talk about some unsung heroes that I am enjoying lately.
Karmen and Candace nail polish from Julep. If you asked me what my favourite fall nail polish was I’d debate between these two. Karmen is a vibrant shimmery red with gold flecks in it. The first time I put it on I thought it looked so much like the turning leaves! I think I even tweeted about it… And Candace is a brown colour with bronze flecks in it. It’s stunning and has this sort of antique vibe to it. I love them both.
Almay one coat get up & grow waterproof mascara. Oooh boy that’s a long name! If you’re in the market for mascara that looks like false lashes – do not buy this product. If you are in the market for a long lasting, no makeup makeup look mascara check this one out! I hadn’t tried anything by Almay before but I’m looking to explore new brands. I grabbed this mascara for $9.99 at Superstore hoping that it would be a nice, delicate, long lasting mascara that I can wear with minimal makeup. Personally, I think one looks a wee bit silly with a minimal makeup and insane lashes. This works exactly as expected and I’ve been using it pretty much daily since I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup to work.
Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint. For lovers of Revlon Lip Butter but cheaper! I’m always on the hunt for a good deal and I think that these Lip Quenches from Pacifica are a fantastic bargain! I picked up mine at Kardish for $5.49. It’s a very smooth and soothing lip balm that is tinted. They moisturize your lips and add a subtle tint of colour at the same time. I’ve been tossing mine in my purse and using it for those moments when I need a little primp time with no mirror or just moisturize my lips. They have several colours. I currently only have the Coconut Nector which smells amazing and is basically nude. I will be going back for more!
Those are my loves of November that have a little less buzz about them. Now…. As I’m sure you know, early November was the Sephora VIB Sale. I picked up a few items that the internet has been raving about and I will join in with them to sing the praises of the following:
- Tarte Pin Up Girl Blush Palette
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Perversion AND Rockstar
- Pur Minerals Soul Mattes Eyeshadow Palette (which I wrote a review about here.)
Yup. They’re all good stuffs and I dig ’em too!
