Yay or Nay?? Revlon 24h Colorstay Whipped Foundation

On today’s Yay or Nay Sunday, Revlon 24h Colorstay Whipped Foundation!

I have been on the hunt for a good drug store foundation. So I have been watching lots of you on YouTube reviewing all sorts of products. This is one of the finds I got while I was in New York.

I got mine Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in the colour 150 Buff.  Before I get into the review, can we just take a moment to acknowledge how hard it is to get your perfect colour match on a drugstore foundation??? OMG. Most I have found are too pink, others are too dark! UGH! I do have to say that the color of this foundation, is perfect. I have neutral undertones, so when there is pink, it doesn’t look good and this one is light enough and doesn’t pull on the pink side.

So colour aside, this foundation was a… drum roll please… NAY

The whipped texture is just too thick. I used my Realtechniques expert face brush, which I use regularly with other foundations and love. And even with blending this out, it left me with a thick feeling on my skin. I found that it felt heavy on my skin and did not absorb very well. I even waited longuer than I normally do to apply my powder, concealer and the rest of my face, and I still found that the foundation moved off my skin when I applied the rest. As if it was just “sitting” on my skin instead of being absorbed. With every stroke of a powder brush or blush brush, the foundation came with it.

The worst for me was how my skin felt all day wearing it… so thick, cakey, and sticky.  I really felt the makeup on my face and I do not like that feeling.

Maybe I used too much, maybe I didn’t give it enough of a try, but honestly, I liked others much better and I disliked it so much that I will park this one. It stays in the Nay pile.
